ASEAN-USPTO Workshop on USPTO Trademark Practice

The “ASEAN-USPTO Workshop on USPTO Trademark Practice” was held from June 26 to 28,2024 in Jakarta, Indonesia and it was attended by two officials as the representatives led by the Director of the Trademark rights Division from IP Department, Ministry of Commerce.
During this workshop, experts from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) discussed and explained with the case study for the matters related to trademark examination such as translation and transliteration ; the marks to cause Likelihood of Confusion among consumers, three-Dimensional (Configuration) marks; Well-Known Marks; the Marks created in Bad Faith; as well as the Non- Traditional Marks such as smell marks and color marks. it has been reported that representatives from various ASEAN member countries also shared their practice on trademark examination.
